Being closely involved with the farming community we see first-hand why UK farmers are heralded as some of the best in the world. However, it’s shocking to think that whilst this important industry equates for 1% of the UK workforce, it sees 20% of worker fatalities. It is also listed by the HSE as the most dangerous profession in the UK.
To raise awareness of the hazards facing British farmers and to help introduce positive measures to reduce these statistics, the NFU Mutual formed the Farm Safety Foundation charity. Who in turn, launched Farm Safety Week. An important week in the farming calendar and supported by campaigns such as ‘Yellow Wellies-who would fill your boots’ and young farmer’s clubs.
Worker visibility is an important issue for all areas of the ASHBROOK business. Whether you’re involved in farming, construction, quarrying, or many other sectors that the business supports through our hire, transport, or groundwork divisions. Therefore each year we stock up on our BE SEEN, BE SAFE brightly coloured beanie hats. They’ve now become a must-have item!
In support of the 2020 Farm Safety Week, we are giving away 20 of these hats to lucky winners*. To enable more people to BE SEEN, BE SAFE.
Enter here (this competition is now closed) and you can also sign up to receive product reviews, company news, offers, and updates direct to your inbox via our ASHBROOKstyle newsletter.
*Winners will be picked at random, contacted via email and asked to provide their addresses in order to post the hats to them. Closes 31/07/20
