BACKHOE LOADERS; A BASIC GUIDE Post Thumbnail

The backhoe loader is a versatile machine loved by the agricultural, construction and waste sectors alike. Designed to help you be as flexible on-site as possible, with 4-in-1 front end buckets and a range of rear bucket sizes. This machine is essentially the love child of a tractor, telehandler and an excavator (chuckle)!

Described by Nick Drew, in his layman’s guide to the backhoe loader as ‘the Swiss Army Knife of construction machines’ and it’s easy to see why. Whether you’re digging, grading, forklifting or using the wealth of hydraulic attachments, this machine can do the job for you.

The backhoe loader is made up of four main components:

  • The body
  • The loader
  • The backhoe
  • The stabiliser legs.

All of which work in tandem to ensure that the machine is as efficient and versatile as possible.

Its flexibility when it comes to hydraulic attachments knows no bounds, not limited to digging or movement of materials, the backhoe loader can come with:

  • Buckets with thumbs
  • Hammers
  • Couplers
  • Compactors
  • Rippers
  • Brooms and street sweepers
  • Snowplows and snow pushes
  • Augers

ASHBROOK have on fleet and available for hire the CAT 423F2. It will bring flexibility and reliability to your job, available at excellent hire rates.
