HOW TO RESTART PLANT HIRE MACHINERY AFTER A PROLONGED PERIOD OF SHUTDOWN? Post Thumbnail

With sites potentially starting up again in the coming weeks, a concern may be how to safely restart plant hire machinery that has been standing idle for some time?

Rest assured, ASHBROOK machinery contains the most up-to-date and modern technology available and can therefore cope with extended periods of downtime without requiring attention from our maintenance team. However, it is important to bring the vehicles back online safely and proficiently, for the good of the machinery, site efficiency and operator safety.

CPA guidance is that ‘for most plant, normal but enhanced checks – which are predominately visual – should be carried out prior to operation and that employers and supervisors should allow sufficient time for operators and/ or on-site maintenance teams to carry them out. If any doubt exists on the machine’s functionality when being checked, then expert advice should be sought.’

The new CPA guidance on enhanced pre-operational checks and is not intended to cover all eventualities, but to be an overview to help support your plant start up plan.

For further advice contact our Service Team on service@ashbrook.ltd or call 01260 270817 and ask for Tom.
