Engine and design

Like its larger counterpart the CAT 315 GC Next Generation, this 13t digger has a C3.6 Tier 4 Final/ Stage V diesel engine which meets EU Stage V emission standards. Thus, helping to support your environmental targets on-site.

By operating to a net power of 54.3kW, this means that the engine functions below the 55kW threshold and therefore does not require the addition of diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), or ad-blue as it is known. Yet it is still able to generate an excellent digging force, ensuring that jobs are completed in a time and cost-efficient manner.

The CAT 313 GC Next Generation digger is the smallest in the range to come with two power modes- Power mode and Smart mode. The new Smart mode automatically adjusts engine and hydraulic power for the highest fuel efficiency – less power for tasks such as swinging and more power for digging. Thus, allowing you to achieve up to 15% fuel saving versus previous models, supporting your on-site budgetary requirements.

The engine and hydraulics balance along with the compact radius design ensuring that this machine has the power to complete most light to medium-sized construction jobs with the ability to fit into confined spaces. Thereby allowing you to work confidently in applications, such as road construction jobs with lane closures and next to buildings and other structures.
