Reach and boom information

Thanks to JCB’s continuous strive for improvement, this telehandler is one of the safest machines on the market.  The low boom pivot point ensures class-leading visibility around the machine and combines this with a wealth of safety features to support a safe working environment for operators and site staff.

The JCB 540-140 has a 4,000 kg max payload, a 14m max lift height, and a maximum forward reach of 9.70m.

In addition, market-leading JCB hydraulics help to reduce cycle times by up to 20% and fuel consumption by 4.4%.  In fact, it’s the most efficient construction telescopic handler yet.  Due to a clever 4-piece boom design that combines a hydraulic ram and chains to extend or retract all the sections proportionally in one fast, smooth movement.

Site versatility

Like its sister machines, a JCB construction loadall is the one you want to have operating on your site.  The JCB 540-140 HiViz provides excellent manoeuvrability and fast travel times across the site, courtesy of a compact wheelbase, and large steering lock angles. With 4WD as standard, you get plenty of traction and performance even in soft, muddy areas. 2WD can be selected to minimise fuel use.  Also, as with all JCB telehandlers, the machine comes with three easily interchangeable steering modes:

  • Four steer for optimum manoeuvrability
  • Two steer for road efficiency
  • Crab steer for nimble and close contact work.

The loadall comes with pallet forks and is JCB quickhitch enabled.  Additional attachments are available, ask our hire team for information.

Want additional stability on-site?  Then use the JCB 540-140 HiViz (sway) model.

Operator comfort

When your cab is your office, JCB understands the importance of comfort and ease of functionality.  With this in mind, they’ve developed the most comfortable cab yet, boasting a 7-speed fan heater for optimal operator comfort, thus facilitating maximum productivity.

Visibility is excellent, courtesy of direct glazing, a large roof screen, and standard-fit tinted cab glass. Roof bars are strategically placed for maximum visibility when placed at height.

The backlit switches on a JCB 540-140 HiViz Loadall are crystal clear, even in the dark.  In addition, new instruments and a hi-res TFT screen form an intuitive automotive-style layout.  It is also fitted with new single lever controls to reduce operator fatigue by 8%, raising concentration levels, and site safety.

All ASHBROOK telehandlers are supplied with JCB Livelink technology.  Therefore, ensuring the best customer service for our customers.
