Each year ASHBROOK joins local Young Farmers clubs in some fun and games at the Royal Cheshire Show and 2024 was no exception. Both Sandbach and Congleton received a custom-designed Case IH tractor to pull their floats in the annual Young Farmers Float competition.
Planning begins well in advance of the event with each club giving ASHBROOK the brief, which in turn is passed onto the digital graphics company to bring to life.
This year the theme was video games with Sandbach landing a familiar task of creating a float to depict ‘Farming Simulator’ and Congleton the equally viral game of ‘Minecraft’.
A few ‘diamond’ designs were created by Stoke-on-Trent-based Logoshack and between them, ASHBROOK, and the Young Farmers’ final designs were settled upon.
Phill Davies, Managing Director of Logoshack comments, ‘it was great fun being tasked by ASHBROOK to bring these tractors to life. We regularly create graphic wraps for all types of machinery, but never a tractor and never anything as wacky as this. Our designers really enjoyed it’, concludes Phill.
‘It was a true collaboration between the three organisations and I think the outcome of both tractors is fantastic’, adds Stephanie Dean, Group Marketing Manager for ASHBROOK. ‘The skill of Logoshack to bring the themes to life and the quality of wrap is excellent. But the tractors really come second to the floats the Young Farmers create and these are always top notch.’
‘We love seeing the final tractor and float combination at the competition and it is a highlight for hundreds at the show each year.’
‘It’s entertaining to have the tractors all dressed up for the next few years. Last year’s Loony Tunes tractor brought smiles to many whilst out on hire and while taking part in lots of charity tractor runs. People often ask about it and I anticipate these two doing the same’, concludes Steph.
Dan Bracegirdle of Sandbach Young Farmers was very pleased to report, ‘this year Sandbach came first. We put hours of work into the float and costumes, and it really paid off. Our theme was ‘Farming Simulator’, and as we eat and sleep farming not much research was needed!’
‘We’d like to thank ASHBROOK for their continued support’, says James Lancaster, Chairman of Congleton Young Farmers. ‘Whilst 2024 wasn’t our year, we thoroughly enjoyed building the Minecraft float block by block and receiving the tractor to pull it. The competition was strong, and we congratulate Sandbach, Knutsford, and Malpass on their placing. We look to the future with ‘endless possibilities’ concludes James, with a smile.
