Throaty roars of power, once again, ring out through the Shropshire hills as Hawkstone International MX makes a triumphant return.
Competitors from around the globe flooded to this famous track, looking to take on the might of the Hawkstone Hill and the thrills and spills that this technical track has to offer.
Record-breaking numbers braved the dismal weather forecast to see the stars of the future, and current champions show off their abundance of skills. And weren’t they rewarded! Not only with a day of top-class racing, but the weather held off as well!
In MX2, Isak Gifting and Conrad Mewse took the Moto wins with the impressive Kay de Wolf being the first MX2 rider in the superfinal.
In MX1, Brian Bogers and Brent van Doninck took the wins with Glenn Coldenhoff saving the best for last to win the Superfinal.
Paul Pitney, a spokesperson for Salop Motor Club said, ‘after the stress of the storm bashed 2020 event and the cancellation of the 2021 race due to COVID-19, it was wonderful to see so many fans turn out to support the event and the riders. We’d like to thank all the local residents for being so understanding during the weekend, and also the fans, sponsors, teams, and riders who made it possible. We’re looking forward to 2023 already!’
James Ashbrook, MD of title sponsors ASHBROOK, adds, ‘as part of our sponsorship deal we provide the machinery, such as excavators, bulldozers, telehandlers, and tractors, that maintain the track throughout the year, so it’s a pleasure to see it providing such excitement to so many on race days.’
Roll on Hawkstone International 2023!
